RiverCity Vineyard is a new church plant here in Wanganui.
Barry & Joanne and their 3 Children, Rochelle, Brooke & Ryan arrived in Wanganui in 2000 and set about planting church as best they new how. Over the next 6 years we sowed and reaped some good fruit.

Something was wrong. We were getting worn-out and striving for what? After sitting in the back row of a local church who let us recover and catch our breath for 18 months, We are now having some fun with 5 other families who are sick of striving to build something that Jesus said he would build. We are to be obedient. We are to be Christ to those around us (what does that even mean in this society?) We are to worship God and him only (how do I do that?) God is leading us down a path that is not a way any of us thought he would take us, but we are following and being obedient as best we can. We have and will make mistakes, but we will carry on following Him who is faithful.

He has given us a heart to serve the needy and hurting people here in Wanganui and inspire those around them to hear Gods call to do the same.RiverCity Vineyard is at present a small group of people being Christ to those around them and seeing God move in their lives (way cool). Lives are being changed, God is changing us and we are willing to be changed.
